Dolly Parton released the deluxe edition of her first-ever rock album as a surprise gift to fans in honor of her 78th birthday on Friday (January 19). The beloved country music legend announced the expanded project in a statement shared on her social media channels. The new version of Rockstar features a total of 39 tracks, including 21 classic rock hits and 13 of Parton’s originals.
“It's my Birthday so I'm going to give you a present,” Parton said in her announcement on Friday morning. “I’m releasing four never released songs for my birthday, to go with the Rockstar album, and a few others that you may have heard before that were not on the album. I hope you enjoy them, and I hope you all have a happy birthday for me! LOL”
Parton’s newly-debuted Rockstar tracks include a Pat Benatar cover, a new version of her 1970s classic “Jolene” with Måneskin, a stunning rendition of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and more:

Parton, who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, released her original, highly-anticipated Rockstar with 30 tracks in November. The album includes star-studded collaborations, including with Sting, Kid Rock, Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Chris Stapleton, Miley Cyrus, P!nk and Brandi Carlile, Elton John, Melissa Etheridge, Lizzo, Linda Perry, Sheryl Crow and Emmylou Harris, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many others.
“I can’t tell you how proud I am of the Rockstar album, and I can’t tell you how happy I am that it’s finally here to be released,” Parton previously said in a statement. “I really had a wonderful time working with all these iconic artists on the record and all these iconic musicians. Not to mention all these iconic songs that I think everybody will love hearing again. I just hope you enjoy my version of them.”
