Nicole Combs has a new winter tradition for her family.
Nicole shared a reel on Instagram on Tuesday evening (January 16), sharing a recipe to make ice cream using snow, following several inches of snowfall and plummeting temperatures this week in Nashville and across Middle Tennessee. It’s a recipe that Nicole said will “definitely be an annual tradition for our family,” including her husband, country hitmaker Luke Combs, and two young sons, Tex Lawrence Combs, turning 2 in June, and Beau Lee Combs, who was born in August.
“Growing up in Florida, I never experienced snow so I clearly never heard of snow cream,” Nicole shared. “Luke made some for me this year and my mind was truly blown. This will definitely be an annual tradition for our family!”
Nicole added that the recipe she shared includes her preferred measurements, through others can adjust with more vanilla or sugar. She also noted that those with non-dairy dietary needs could likely use oat milk or almond milk, though she hasn’t tried that ingredient swap herself. See Nicole’s “snow cream” recipe below:
INGREDIENTS:
❄️ 8 cups snow
❄️ 2 teaspoons vanilla
❄️ 1/2 cup sugar
❄️ 1 cup heavy cream, half & half, or milk
❄️ whatever toppings you like
DIRECTIONS:
❄️ Scoop 8 cups of snow, add all ingredients except toppings. Mix together.. vigorously. Add toppings. Enjoy!
