Gary LeVox “had to share” a nearly 20-year-old throwback photo with Denim & Rhinestones powerhouse Carrie Underwood on Instagram on Wednesday night (January 10). The “Way Back Wednesday” photo captured the Rascal Flatts star with spike blonde har posed next to “my sista,” Underwood, in 2005, the same year she won the fourth season of smash-hit competition show American Idol.
The photo was taken backstage at TNT’s “Christmas in Washington 2005” show at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. The genre-spanning show also featured performers The Click Five, Cece Winans, Ciara, Jane Monheit and others. Then-President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, Dr. Phil McGraw and wife Robin McGraw, and others also attended the “Christmas in Washington 2005” special.
Underwood kickstarted her career that year after winning American Idol with her first-ever single, “Inside Your Heaven,” followed by her debut full-length album, Some Hearts, a 14-track project featuring “Wasted,” “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “Before He Cheats” and more. It paid the way to her award-winning career, leading to her latest full-length album, the 18-track deluxe edition of Denim & Rhinestones, which released in September with six new tracks added to the original 2022 collection.
Around that time, LeVox released the 14-track Me And My Gang album with Rascal Flatts, featuring “What Hurts The Most,” “My Wish,” “Life is a Highway” and other highlights, remaining some the band’s top singles of their career. By that time, the trio had also released “Prayin’ For Daylight,” “These Days,” “Mayberry,” “Love You Out Loud,” “Bless The Broken Road,” “Feels Like Today,” “Fast Cars And Freedom” and other Rascal Flatts hits. LeVox has released solo music beginning in 2020, including 5-track EP One On One and single “Get Down Like That.”
