Chris Young revealed long-awaited details about his ninth full-length studio album he’s had in the works. The country superstar’s next project takes on the same title as his previously-released, David Bowie-inspired single, “Young Love & Saturday Nights.”

Young Love & Saturday Nights is Young’s largest album of his career so far, he noted as he made his announcement on Monday afternoon (January 8). It will feature 18 tracks, including one that’s set to make its debut on Friday (January 12). Young set his Instagram post to soon-to-release “Right Now,” which he seemingly teased in a post on Sunday (January 7) with a brief snippet of the country star staring out a window on a rainy day. He wrote in his caption: “What are you doing right now…”

Last week, Young foreshadowed his album announcement on his social media channels. He shared a video seemingly talking about Young Love & Saturday Nights, though the video was edited to censor key details with a loud “beep” and the word “CONFIDENTIAL” appearing in red, all-capital letters over Young’s face. The country hitmaker hinted that 2024 “might be better” than 2023.

Young previously spoke with iHeartCountry about “Young Love & Saturday Nights,” his health and fitness transformation, and his next chapter of music. The 18-track project will mark Young’s latest full-length record since Famous Friends in 2021, with a deluxe edition that followed in 2022. Famous Friends included the smash-hit title track featuring Kane Brown, “At the End of a Bar” with Mitchell Tenpenny, acoustic renditions of “I’m Comin’ Over” and “Think of You” with Cassadee Pope, among other highlights. Since releasing Famous Friends and its deluxe edition, Young has also released “Looking for You” and “All Dogs Go To Heaven” on a 2-track collection.

“I’ve been living with it for so long, I’m so excited for people to actually be able to dig into it and hear all of it as a whole as opposed to one or two teaser clips,” Young previously told iHeartCountry of his next album. “It’s always fun to post that stuff, but I want people to really dive into this album and enjoy the work that we’ve put into it.

“I know it’s gonna sound cliché, but this is one of my favorite projects I’ve ever made,” he continued. “If there was actually any inspiration for me being fired up and working on myself, it would probably be that the music is so good. I’m really, really proud of this project. I want people to hear it.”

Young Love & Saturday Nights is set to release on March 22.
