Keith Urban delivered a soulful performance of his 2016 ballad, “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” during the season finale of The Voice this week. Urban serenaded the crowd during the televised performance, taking the stage under the glow of blue lighting on Tuesday night (December 19). The audience cheered when Urban added an impromptu, “‘Cause he’s a loser, baby,” after the line, “I’m tellin' you/ You don't need that guy.”

“Blue Ain’t Your Color” appeared on Urban’s ninth full-length studio album, Ripcord, which also included “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16,” “Wasted Time,” “The Fighter” with Carrie Underwood and other highlights on the 13-track album.

“Blue looks good on the sky/ Looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall/ But darling, it don't match your eyes/ I’m tellin' you/ You don't need that guy/ It's so black and white/ He's stealin' your thunder/ Baby, blue ain't your color”

Urban took the stage alongside Dan + Shay, AJR and other performers on The Voice finale, crowning Huntley, from Team Niall Horan, the winner. This season was also the first that country superstar Reba McEntire served as a coach on the show. She’s set to return next season, alongside John Legend, Chance the Rapper and first-ever coaching duo Dan + Shay. Watch Urban perform his heartfelt hit here:
