Miranda Lambert revealed a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her fast-paced Las Vegas residency, stunning show with a setlist that spans the Texas-born artist’s award-winning career. Lambert posted a video to show the it takes a village to help her achieve a wardrobe quick change in about 90 seconds before she returns to the stage.
“We have about 90 seconds. Takes a whole lotta people to make this happen!” Lambert captioned the video — set to her 2011 anthem, “Fastest Girl In Town” — that nods to the team that helps her prep for the performance. The video shows Lambert quickly arrive backstage, where a team is ready to help make sure her wardrobe and makeup are stage-ready. She steps on a platform to return to the Vegas crowd.
Lambert’s Velvet Rodeo show got its name from a line in “Actin’ Up,” the opening track on her latest full-length album, Palomino, which released in April 2022. Lambert performed during an exclusive iHeartCountry Album Release show at her Nashville bar, and said during a Q&A that she’s, “built a career on being feminine and still keeping a bada** edge, and I think that’s important and I felt like Velvet Rodeo would encompass that. …Velvet Rodeo) felt like my catalog as a whole, and it’s a line in the new song and it just felt very Vegas to me. …(the venue) felt like a big honky tonk, and that’s really my vibe.”
Earlier this month, Lambert revealed her nine final Velvet Rodeo shows. She’s set to take the stage for two more shows this month, and will return in March to perform the final Velvet Rodeo shows in the spring. The last one is set for early April.
