Zac Brown Band paid tribute to the late Jimmy Buffett with a bittersweet cover of his iconic “Margaritaville” on the band’s new collection of live cover performances. From The Road, Vol. 1: Covers made its highly-anticipated debut on Friday (November 10). The album release comes two day after Zac Brown Band — along with Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney and Mac McAnally — remembered Buffett with a special performance during the 57th annual CMA Awards in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Zac Brown Band said as they shared a clip of the CMA Awards performance on Instagram on Friday that that moment “felt like a party with all our friends… just like Jimmy would have wanted.”
Th 13-track album also includes “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Baba O’Riley,” “Eleanor Rigby” and other iconic songs covered by Zac Brown Band over the last decade. The Grammy Award-winning group’s first-ever live covers album also includes features with John Mayer, Steven Tyler, Marcus King, Darrell Scott and Mark O’Connor Band.
