HARDY marked his first-ever CMA Awards victory with back-to-back wins revealed on Good Morning America on Wednesday morning (November 8), the same day as the highly-anticipated awards show. HARDY won in the Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year categories for “wait in the truck,” his powerful collaboration with fellow country star Lainey Wilson.

Wilson joined HARDY on the duet, which appears on his half-country, half-rock album that released earlier this year, the mockingbird & THE CROW. Wilson sings on the storytelling track: “I don’t know if he’s angel / Cause angels don’t do what he did / He was hell bent to find the man behind / All the whiskey scars I hid / I never thought my day of justice / Would come from a judge under his seat / But I knew right then I’d never get hit again when he said to me / Wait in the truck / Just wait in the truck.”

Both artists are also up for awards in other categories on Country Music’s Biggest Night, including Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Entertainer of the Year (Wilson), Album of the Year (Wilson) and Female Vocalist of the Year (Wilson). HARDY and Wilson are included in the star-studded lineup of performers set to take the stage throughout the evening, along with Kelsea BalleriniKenny ChesneyLuke CombsDan + ShayJordan DavisAlan JacksonCody JohnsonPost MaloneMac McAnallyAshley McBrydeMorgan WallenThe War And Treaty, Zac Brown BandLuke BryanJelly RollK.
