Country star MacKenzie Porter and her husband, musician and actor Jake Etheridge, made their “biggest announcement yet” as the couple revealed that they’re expecting Baby No. 1. Porter and Etheridge posted a few heartwarming photos on Instagram on Thursday (November 2) spotlighting the singer-songwriter’s growing baby bump.
“Our sweet baby,” Porter wrote in her caption on Instagram as she shared a few photos by Bree Marie Fish, capturing “our sweetest moment yet.” “We couldn’t be more excited to meet you, hold you, kiss your lil squishy cheeks and let Willa lick your lil toes. To say we are a tad nervous would be an understatement but what we know without an ounce of doubt is that we will love you more than anything in this entire world. We will never go back to who we were before. WE are now THREE (well 4 including the fur bean) forever. Love Mom and Dad”
Porter — known for songs like “Pickup,” “These Days,” her 2020 collaboration with Dustin Lynch, “Thinking ‘Bout You,” and more — addd on her Instagram story that she’s eager to “share the whole story with you all. These last 5 months have been a ride.” She also posted a text exchange with her husband (whose acting credits include Daisy Jones & The Six, Nashville and more), gushing over the baby’s kicks. Lynch quickly commended on the couple’s pregnancy announcement, which also garnered congratulatory messages from Maddie & Tae’s Taylor Kerr, Hannah Ellis, Chris Lane, Ashley Cooke, Jana Kramer and many others.
Porter, 33, and Etheridge, 35, secretly eloped in 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee. Porter, from Canada, told PEOPLE at that time that she and her now-husband “really loved the idea of having a super small, intimate gathering with just our immediate families, where we didn't have any added stress or distractions and it could really just be about us taking vows and starting our new little family. Since all of our plans were postponed because of COVID-19, we decided this would be the perfect time to wed and then throw our big party bash next summer. We can't wait to celebrate with all our family and friends.”
