Ashley Monroe signaled the beginning of a new era as she announced new music on Wednesday (November 1). Th country singer-songwriter will start her next chapter later this month with “Over Everything.”

Monroe’s soon-to-release single follows her 2021 project The Covers, a 5-track collection with Tyler Cain that includes Monroe’s spin on “Don’t Worry Baby” by The Beach Boys, “Love Hurts” by Boudleaux Bryant, “Every Breath You Take” by The Police, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” by Bryan Adams, and “More Than Words” by Extreme. Monroe includes Ruston Kelly on “Love Hurts” and duets with Brittney Spencer on “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You.” Monroe said when that EP released that “these songs all live in a deep part of my heart and still feel fresh to me after years and years of singing them. I hope they touch your heart the way they touch mine.”

Monroe’s next chapter will begin nearly one year after celebrating that she’s “officially cancer free,” following a battle with a rare cancer. Monroe reflected last December that she was “diagnosed with a type of blood cancer called Lymphoplasmacytic Lymphoma” in June 2021. She “vowed to give my recovery every ounce of fight I had in me,” and in December, “rang the bell to celebrate surviving six long months of chemotherapy. …In November of 2022 my test results revealed that I’m officially cancer free.”

“Over Everything” is set to release on November 17.
