Kane Brown recently kickstarted his next era of music with his Phil Collins-inspired anthem “I Can Feel It.” Now, the genre-blending country star is sharing a behind-the-scenes from the making of his high-energy music video.

Brown and the video’s director, Alex Alvga, revealed a few fun facts in a new footnotes video posted on Thursday (October 19). Brown said he knew he “wanted the first release off the next album to just be high energy and great for the live show. This song feels exciting and dangerous and car racing captured that vibe.

“I had a couple writers come out on the road to write with me last winter,” Brown added later. “We were in the green room after the show in Toronto listening to our favorite songs and someone played Phil Collins’ ‘In the Air Tonight.’ We were so inspired that the next day we wrote ‘I Can Feel It.’”

The video — which also includes subtle nods to tour dates, cities and other “special moments that the fans can look forward to,” the director noted — is known for its full-throttle car race. Alvga said the theme “captured the high-energy, thrilling, and dangerous sensations associated with the song when driving. We spent a total of 6 hours filming just the racing scenes.

“During the racing scenes, we encountered a challenge where the two cars kept overheating due o the need for multiple takes to capture the scene effectively,” Alvga continued. “We had to take a 20-minute break to allow the cars to cool down and function properly again.”

The team filmed the entire “I Can Feel It” music video in one 14-hour day, carefully planning that time to make the most of it. Brown said he had a “blast” racing, and “went really late into the night,” to film the final scene. Brown, who delivered the debut live “I Can Feel It” performance at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Festival, is set to kick off his highly-anticipated “In The Air Tour” in early 2024, bringing Tyler HubbardJon PardiChris YoungBailey ZimmermanCole SwindellParmaleeLOCASH and RaeLynn.
