The CMT Music Awards will return to the Lone Star State in 2024, officials announced on Thursday (October 5). The annual awards show is slated to come back to Moody Center in Austin, Texas on Sunday, April 7, airing live (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on CBS and steaming live and on demand on Paramount+.
The 2023 CMT Music Awards switched locations last year, bringing the show to Austin from Nashville, Tennessee. Kelsea Ballerini made the announcement when she surprised the Moody Center crowd at Carrie Underwood’s “Denim & Rhinestones Tour” stop in November 2022. That’s where the “HEARTFIRST” star, who co-hosted the 2023 show with Kane Brown, presented Underwood with a championship belt to celebrate her “reigning highest number of CMT Awards ever …25, to be exact.” Ballerini announced that she, Underwood and other country superstars would return to the venue in April for the CMT Music Awards.
This year’s show spotlighted some of the biggest stars inc country music, including award winners Shania Twain, Kane Brown and Katelyn Brown, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney and others.
