Jimmie Allen and his wife, Alexis Gale, have opted “to work on things together and are still together,” a rep for the country artist confirmed in a statement on Wednesday afternoon (October 4), months after the couple announced that they would separate and filed for divorce. the statement also comes shortly after Allen and Gale welcomed Baby No. 3.
Allen and Gale announced in a statement together in April that they were separating after nearly two years of marriage. They also announced at that time that they are expecting another child, and said as they requested privacy that “our number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another.”
The couple filed for divorce shortly afterward, reportedly citing “irreconcilable differences.” Allen previously made a public apology to Gale and his children amid ongoing accusations and the divorce.
Now, however, Allen’s rep said that the country star and his wife have changed course. The rep told PEOPLE on Wednesday afternoon that the divorce “was never fully seen through legally,” and that “they decided to work on things together and are still together.”
That statement shortly follows another from Allen’s rep, saying that “Jimmie and Lexi are focused on their new bundle of joy.”
Gale shared the first photos of Baby No. 3, a son named Cohen Ace James, on Monday (October 2). The baby arrived on Wednesday, September 27. Gale shared a sonogram image on her Instagram story on Mother’s Day. (Though it was later removed), revealing that she was pregnant with a baby boy.
Allen and Gale married in May 2021. They’re parents to daughters Naomi Bettie, born in March 2020, and Zara James, born in October 2021. Allen is also father to son Aadyn, 8, from a previous relationship.
