Jimmie Allen’s estranged wife, Alexis Gale, shared the first photos of the couple’s newborn baby as she announced his birth in an Instagram post on Monday (October 2). Gale revealed that Cohen Ace James made his arrival on Wednesday, September 27.

The couple announced in a statement together in April that they’d part ways after nearly two years of marriage, a decision that came as they learned that they’re expecting another child together. The country star and his now-estranged wife said at the time that their “number one priority is and always will be ensuring that our children are healthy, happy and loved, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect for one another. In light (of) our growing family, we respectfully request privacy during this time.” The couple filed for divorce about a week later, reportedly citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Gale shared on Mother’s Day (May 14) that she was pregnant with a baby boy, though she later removed the sonogram image from her Instagram story.

Allen, who previously issued a public apology to Gale and his children amid ongoing accusations and the divorce, said in a statement to PEOPLE over the summer that “my wife and I are working to resolve things together as a family.” He said at that time that he “wanted to fix my family first,” and “took some time off to be with my wife, kids and friends, to ensure everyone was OK.”

The “Down Home” artist and his wife tied the knot in May 2021. They’re parents to daughters Naomi Bettie, born in March 2020, and Zara James, born in October 2021. Allen is also father to son Aadyn, 8, from a previous relationship. See Gale’s post introducing their newborn son here:
