Thomas Rhett released a heartfelt ballad that he penned with fellow country star Morgan Wallen years ago over Zoom. The collaboration serves as a tribute to their grandmothers and a nostalgic reflection of childhood memories. Rhett released the new collaboration on his 22-track collection, 20 Number Ones, on Friday (September 29).
“We wrote this song over zoom a few years ago. Really glad it’s finally out for y’all to hear. Now go call your grandmothers!” Rhett exclaimed as he introduced the new collaboration with Wallen.
Rhett’s new album celebrates his career-spanning smash-hits, from his debut full-length album in 2012 to today. Other fan-favorites throughout the project include “It Goes Like This,” “Die A Happy Man,” “T-Shirt,” “Graving You” featuring Maren Morris,” “Life Changes,” “Beer Can’t Fix” with Jon Pardi, “Be A Light” — featuring Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, Chris Tomlin and Keith Urban — and “What’s Your Country Song,” among many others.
“This project is for every single one of YOU who has been on this journey with me so far… so beyond thankful for the last 10 years and even more excited for the next decade,” Rhett said as he released 20 Number Ones on Friday. The collection comes as the country hitmaker is set to perform his final two shows on his headlining “Home Team Tour 23,” which also includes Nate Smith and Cole Swindell. Rhett’s final two shows will take place on Friday and Saturday (September 30) nights at Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.
