Alex Georgia is looking ahead to “a new beginning,” the singer-songwriter said as he shared a video over the weekend that captured a gender reveal with a surprise proposal.
Georgia’s video opens as he and his now-fiancée pray together for their baby, their family and their future. The couple sat on a picnic blanket outside — with sonogram photos — as they used mason jars to dig into a cake to reveal blue icing. Georgia exclaimed, “it’s a boy!”
The parents-to-be stood up, and Georgia rolled up his jeans to reach into one of his boots. He pulled out a ring and got down on one knee to pop the question, pledging to raise their family together and telling his now-fiancée that he loves her.
Instagram commenters congratulated the newly-engaged parents-to-be: “WHAT THE HECK? The proposal shocked me. CONGRATS 🎊🎉🍾 👦🏻,” “this is literally the sweetest gender reveal and proposal i’ve ever seen 🥹,” “Congratulations so happy for you both!,” “Hell yeah, congrats guys! Much love to you both 🫶🏼,” and more. Georgia said on his Instagram story that the gender reveal and proposal “was nothing short of incredible.”
Georgia is a solo singer-songwriter, though some fans may also know his previous work in the former duo Kat & Alex. They previously announced that they would part ways, and “it would mean the world to us to have your continued support on our individual journeys. We love y’all so much.”
