Kelsea Ballerini arrived at the 2023 MTV VMAs, turning heads as she walked the red carpet in an eye-popping red gown — perfectly matching boyfriend Chase Stokes.

Ballerini, who is also celebrating her 30th birthday on Tuesday (September 12), is set to make her VMA debut when she takes the stage during the highly-anticipated show. The “HEARTFIRST” artist is among a star-studded list of performers, representing country music during the annual multi-genre awards show. Ballerini, who also brought her mom to the show, said on the red carpet that she’s looking forward to celebrating after a whirlwind year. She recently returned from Italy with Stokes, whom she started dating earlier this year, following her divorce after nearly five years of marriage. Ballerini previously confirmed that the pair began talking in December 2022 after she slid into his DMs — writing “hi Chase Stokes,” as a reference to his Instagram handle — and they spurred dating rumors on social media after posting a photo at the College Football Playoff National Championship on January 9 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Ballerini confirmed their relationship in an interview shortly after that, confirming that she’s not single and they’re “having fun.”
