Every big name in country music has gotten their start somewhere, from singer-songwriter nights at small clubs to singing backing vocals for other big-name artists. This includes superstar Carly Pearce. Now a member of the Grand Ole Opry, Pearce recently recalled the very first time she stepped on the Opry stage while filming a music video for Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Pearce recalled meeting and singing backup for Hale a decade ago while filming a video for the actress on the iconic stage, a move that ended up sparking a longtime friendship with her "dear friend" who she said is "such a champion of mine and my music."

"I met Lucy on the set of her music video at the Grand Ole Opry, which is so insane. It was the first time I'd ever stepped on the stage," she said. "It freaked me out because I never wanted to stand on the stage until I was playing myself. Now I'm a member, which is wild. I remember just being really excited to be there because I was working a lot of odd jobs and was really sad and needed to fall back in love with music. She helped me do that."

The "Country Music Made Me Do It" singer said that time of her life was "so fun," adding that as an up-and-coming artist in her early 20s she "just thought I had totally made it."

"It really did make me fall back in love with music, having somebody that was around my age that I could just go have fun with and be on a stage and get to be a part of a band that I love," she said. "We really had a wonderful time."

Now, the pair's friendship has come full circle as Hale recently appeared in Pearce's "We Don't Fight Anymore" music video, starring alongside Shiloh Fernandez as a couple who have grown "cold" and "indifferent" with each other throughout their relationship.

"I just asked her if she wanted to be in the video and have the biggest full circle moment ever and she so graciously said yes," Pearce said.

Pearce had nothing but praise for the duo's performances in the video, saying she get chills every time she watches them tell the story "so perfectly."
