Chris Lane laments that his ex-girlfriend still shows up in his favorite bar even after the couple split up. Lane dropped his new breakup anthem, “Find Another Bar,” to kick off the weekend on Friday (August 18).
Teaming up with Josh Thompson and Justin Ebach, Lane penned a track that sees a former flame moving on with a new man, a new group of friends, a new black dress and more. But she still shows up at the same bar where the exes could run into one another (or, at least, the singer could see her from a distance as she moves on with someone else).
“Find another bar, place to raise em up/ It can't be that hard, I know you saw my truck/ Why can't you find another floor/ Different neon lights/ Til you walked through the door/ Yeah, this one here was mine/ Girl why you gotta look like you do/ So beautiful, yeah thanks to you/ My moving on ain't moving very far/ You already broke my heart/ Why can't you find another bar”
“I’ve been waiting on this day for a long time and excited to have the first one of many to come this year finally out!” Lane said in a statement on Friday. “I wrote ‘Find Another Bar’ with Josh Thompson and Justin Ebach trying to find a different way to write a breakup song and I’m proud of how it turned out! I know there will be a lot of people who can relate to it.”
The release of “Find Another Bar” marks the dawn of a new era in Lane’s music. He deemed the heartache anthem the “first of many to come this year,” and exclaimed that the “best is yet to come!” Listen to his newest song here:
