Luke Bryan admitted it has “not been easy to get through” the last couple shows on his tour. The “But I Got A Beer In My Hand” artist “gave it my all” as he took the stage — including at Bridgestone Arena for a sold-out crowd in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee — after canceling recent performances because of illness.
“Last couple shows have not been easy to get through but I gave it my all. Thankfully my friends and family were there to support. Thank you fans for showing up in a big way,” Bryan captioned a series of photos on Instagram on Sunday night (August 13), at the heels of his sixth consecutive sold-out concert at the Downtown Nashville venue, which he last headlined with a sold-out show in 2021 (and with two back-to-back sold-out concerts in 2013 and 2017), per his record label. Bryan took the Bridgestone Arena stage with renditions of his most popular party anthems and sentimental ballads spanning his career, and even included covers of Lionel Richie and Ronnie Milsap hits, among others. He also included performances with special guests Ashley Cooke, Chayce Beckham and Jackson Dean.
Bryan has been fighting through vocal cord congestion, per his record label, leading to a few canceled performances last weekend and another on Sunday night. Bryan shared a statement to his Brandon, Mississippi-based concertgoers: “I am regretfully going to have to cancel my show there tonight [Sunday, August 13]. Under doctor advisement after taking 6 days off to heal I attempted to sing at both shows Thursday and Saturday and it was a struggle. Every show I sing I’m setting my voice back. I will continue to do everything I can to get better. Please know how much you mean to me and how heartbreaking this is to do.”
Bryan is in the midst of his headlining “Country On Tour,” with a few stops on his 14th annual “Farm Tour” coming up next month. Bryan also posted his final Las Vegas residency dates, and announced details for his annual Crash My Playa festival in January. Bryan’s next “Country On Tour” stop is set for Thursday evening (August 17) in Cincinnati, Ohio.
