Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey said it “might be cheesy,” but he couldn’t resist paying tribute to King of Country George Strait during a recent show in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Still, Ramsey knew he had to “get it out of my head before we move on.”
Ramsey covered Strait’s mid-1990s song, “I Can Still Make Cheyenne,” as the crowd cheered, applauded and sang along: “She said, don't bother comin' home/ By time you get here I'll be long gone/ There's somebody new and he sure ain't no rodeo man/ He said, I'm sorry it's come down to this/ There's so much about you that I'm gonna miss/ But it's alright baby/ If I hurry I can still make Cheyenne/ Gotta go now baby/ If I hurry I can still make Cheyenne.”
Old Dominion kicked off their “No Bad Vibes Tour” earlier this year, aiming to create a show where “you can forget about whatever is bothering you or whatever’s weighing you down. Just come and hangout with us, and escape for a couple hours.” The band previously announced a set of fall dates with special guests Tyler Hubbard, Chase Rice, Kylie Morgan, Kip Moore, Priscilla Block, Adam Doleac, Jameson Rodgers, Niko Moon and Kassi Ashton.
