Luke Combs shared a heartwarming moment with a young fan at his concert over the weekend in Boston, Massachusetts. Cooper, whose wish was to meet his country music hero, joined the award-winning artist on stage to celebrate that he’s cancer-free.

Combs’ record label shard a video of Combs on stage with Cooper, who had his own mic as the duo teamed up to perform Combs’ smash-hit single, “Fast Car,” a cover of Tracy Chapman’s 1980s classic. The crowd in the sold-out stadium cheered and applauded for Cooper.

Combs high-fived his young fan wearing a “Cooper’s Wish To Meet Luke Combs” t-shirt and knelt beside him to kick off the chorus of “Fast Car.” Combs lowered his own mic away from his face as Cooper took the spotlight, singing along and prompting the crowd to join in: “So, I remember when we were driving, driving in your car/ Speed so fast, I felt like I was drunk/ City lights lay out before us/ And your arm felt nice wrapped around my shoulder/ And I, I, had a feeling that I belonged/ I, I, had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone.”

“Fast Car” is the only cover song that Combs included on his latest 18-track album, Gettin Old, the follow-up to 2022’s Growin’ Up. He released the project just in time to kick off his massive ongoing world tour. Since its success, Chapman, the original artist and writer of the song, has said that she’s “honored” that “Fast Car” is successful on the country charts. Watch Combs perform it with Cooper here:
