Dan + Shay kickstarted their highly-anticipated forthcoming era with “Save Me The Trouble” and two surprise tracks. The three-track debut comes just a few hours after the beloved, award-winning duo announced new details about their next full-length album, due this September.

Dan Smyers sand Shay Mooney teased “Save Me The Trouble” earlier this week, and revealed on Thursday evening (July 13) that they would drop “Heartbreak On The Map” and “Bigger Houses,” a heartfelt ballad that serves as the title track of the soon-to-release project.

“Our new album, BIGGER HOUSES, will be available everywhere September 15th and pre-order begins tonight at 11 PM CT,” Dan + Shay announced in an Instagram caption on Thursday evening. “In addition to SAVE ME THE TROUBLE, you’ll also get 2 more of our favorite songs, HEARTBREAK ON THE MAP, and the title track, BIGGER HOUSES. We poured every bit of our hearts into this album and truly cannot wait for y’all to hear it. New era starts now! 🏠 ...We’ve never been more excited to release music and hope y’all love it as much as we do. ❤️‍🔥”

Smyers, Mooney and their wives wrote their own comments on the Dan + Shay post on instagram. Smyers was quick to write that he was “so proud of this album 🥹,” and his wife, Abby Smyers, agreed: “I’m so proud of you guys. This album is so good. The best of the best.”

“THE BOYS ARE BACK. IT’S GOOD [Dan Smyers],” Mooney wrote. Hannah Mooney said she has “every song on repeat. It’s just so good. (and I’m just so proud of y’all) 😭🤍”

Dan + Shay are looking ahead to their next era of music after sharing a raw, powerful video earlier this week. With Mooney behind the wheel and Smyers in the passenger seat, the duo went for a drive and shared a vulnerable conversation about challenges they’d endured and how they overcame them. In the video, Smyers revealed he was “ready to quit” music, and Mooney added that he was “in a really dark place.” Smyers and Mooney went four months without speaking to one another, and met up to talk about the future of the band in March 2022. Ultimately, they decided to move forward, and now, Smyers says that he and Mooney are “a million times the closest we’ve ever been.”

“We love this band. This has been our life. It matters. It matters to people and we had a responsibility and we owed it to them,” Mooney said. “It’s amazing to know now that we found that joy that we were talking about. …it’s changed our lives. I mean honestly, the process of this album completely changed our lives.”
