Shay Mooney’s wife posted a heartfelt tribute to her husband — along with adorable photos of the Dan + Shay star holding the couple’s baby — on Instagram on Thursday (July 13).
“Wanted to take a minute to say… I love this man so much,” Hannah Mooney wrote in her caption. “And I’ve never been more proud of the husband, father, and leader he has become. Over the past year I have had the privilege of watching him pursue health, discipline, and fullness of life. I’ve seen vulnerability, humility, and hard work. And… I’ve seen obedience to step into roles God created him for.
“As life gets busier and the world grows louder, I just wanted to take my minute to let you know just how proud I am of you,” she wrote. “The boys and I are so thankful you’re ours.”
The Mooneys are parents to three young sons: Asher, 6, Ames, 3, and Abram, who was born in January. The Dan + Shay artist — who, shortly before his son’s birth, shared his impressive health and fitness journey — said at the time, “grateful doesn’t begin to cover it. ❤️”
Dan + Shay are getting ready to begin their next chapter together. The duo announced that their next single, “Save Me The Trouble,” is set to release on Thursday night at 11 p.m. CT. Mooney and his duo partner, Dan Smyers, announced the single shortly after posting an emotional video, revealing that they were “ready to quit” music and discussing the future of the band. After spending four months without speaking to one another, Smyers and Mooney opted to move forward, and now, Smyers says they’re closer than ever.
“We love this band. This has been our life. It matters. It matters to people and we had a responsibility and we owed it to them,” Mooney said. “It’s amazing to know now that we found that joy that we were talking about. …it’s changed our lives. I mean honestly, the process of this album completely changed our lives.”
