One Keith Urban fan got an unforgettable FaceTime call from the global superstar during a recent performance in Las Vegas. Urban shared footage of the call on Instagram, recalling the moment he took a concertgoer’s phone to talk with her daughter as he knelt on stage at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
“Oh, sh*t, she did FaceTime! Hi!” Urban exclaimed. The woman, Lindsay, on the other end of the FaceTime call gushed over the “insane” surprise. She told the country star that she was sitting at home with her boyfriend — who looked “high as a kite,” Urban deemed when Lindsay tilted her phone — watching How I Met Your Mother when she got the FaceTime call.
The crowd laughed and cheered throughout the brief conversation. One concertgoer left a comment when Urban shard the video on Wednesday afternoon (June 21), writing that “Lindsay was the cutest on the other end of the line,” and applauding Urban’s “incredible” musicianship and class act. Others gushed over his interactions with his fans, and some of then counted the days until they could see the show themselves.
Urban shared the video along with a few snapshots from his recent shows in Las Vegas (on the second slide), part of his ongoing residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The performance was custom-designed for the stage at the 7,000-seat, state-of-the-art venue. Urban includes some of his biggest hits throughout his decades-long career in the two-hour show, in addition to some never-before-played songs and others that Urban hasn’t played live in about 10 years, per a press release earlier this year announcing extended residency dates.
