Ed Sheeran can officially shotgun a beer, thanks to Luke Combs.

The two global megastars shared a video of the lesson on Monday afternoon (May 15). Sheeran noted, “for context, Luke is — what’s it (called), shooting?”

“Shotgun,” Combs corrected as he readied his beer can.

“Shotgun,” Sheeran continued. “Luke is teaching me how to shotgun a beer.”

The “Beer Never Broke My Heart” powerhouse instructed Sheeran how to shotgun, and asked whether Sheeran preferred to watch Combs first or to shotgun their beers together. Sheeran opted to go together, and deemed the country hitmaker’s shotgunning skill “really impressive.”

“Cheers, mate! 🍻 (Did I do that right? Haha.),” Combs wrote in the comments on Instagram.

Other country artists also dropped comments to commemorate Sheeran’s first shotgun, including Dan + Shay’s Dan Smyers, who said, “Not bad Ted!” Ashley Cooke wrote, “this is everything.”

The shotgun comes shortly after Sheeran performed at the ACM Awards for the first time on Thursday (May 11). Combs joined him as the two performed “Life Goes On.” They released the collaboration after the show: “So tell me how, / How my life goes on with you gone?/ I suppose I’ll sink like a stone/ If you leave me now / Oh the storms will roll/ Easy come, hard go/ Then life goes on.”
