Luke Combs slowed things down at the 58th annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday (May 11) with an amazing performance of "Love You Anyway."
Throughout the emotional performance, Combs promised that his love would never fail despite any challenge or heartbreak that comes his way, singing, "There's just some things that leave a man no choice/ Like a compass needle needin' its true north/ Even if I knew, the day we met, you'd be the reason this heart breaks/ Oh, I'd love you anyway."
The screen lining the stage perfectly complimented the performance, a big farm house sitting under a vast expanse of shining stars with a spinning compass rising up over the horizon like a full moon waiting to point to his true north.

Before he seemingly left the stage, he introduced Ed Sheeran, who made his ACM Awards debut with performance of a song from his newest album Subtract. However, Combs returned to the stage to treat the crowd to a surprise duet.

Combs recently teamed up with Riley Green for a new take on the latter's "Different 'Round Here" anthem, a move that Green said was "a long time comin'." Combs also took on the challenge of covering "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman, which he said was inspired by his dad who introduced him to the song when he was a child.
In addition to new music and collaborations, Combs and his wife, Nicole, are expecting their second child together and getting ready to join the "2 under 2 club." The couple welcomed their first child, Tex Lawrence Combs, on Father's Day in June 2022, and are already eagerly anticipating expanding their family with their little one on the way.
The pair announced in March that they will welcome "baby boy No. 2" in September. Nicole recently said she and Luke are struggling to find a name for their new addition, claiming they are "truly having the hardest time" settling on a name.
"I like one syllable names bc I think they're powerful, but every name we like (2 lol) — we know someone or someone's child named that already," she said in a Q&A on Instagram earlier this month. "I normally don't care about that, but when it's a close friend it's kind of odd lol."
