Willie Nelson and Sheryl Crow are among the most recently-announced Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, and they'll join a growing list of iconic artists whose music has unforgettably influenced country music history.
Nelson and Crow were on the ballot for the first time, along with several others, when they were announced as nominees earlier this year. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation revealed its list of 2023 Inductees days after Nelson celebrated his 90th birthday. John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, hailed the 2023 Inductees an “incredible group…(that) reflects the diverse artists and sounds that define rock & roll.” He added that the foundation was honored that the Induction Ceremony in November will coincide with Nelson’s milestone birthday year.
Nelson and Crow are in good company with other superstars who are known as staples in the country music genre. Dolly Parton is among the recent Rock Hall inductees, which inspired a highly-anticipated, yet-to-release rock album. Parton recently shared that one of the songs has “really got a great message to it, but it’s also good and solid–kind of like a rock anthem.”
Many Rock Hall inductees have had heavy influence in the country genre, including Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, The Band and others. Find the full list of Rock Hall inductees here. See a list of country and bluegrass artists who are Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees below.
