Keith Urban beamed with an ear-to-ear smile when he caught up with iHeartRadio on the red carpet at the 2023 Met Gala on Monday evening (May 1), hosted at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The beloved Australian country singer-songwriter chatted with iHeartRadio’s Emily Curl, who wanted to know what kind of music Urban has on his “hype playlist” ahead of the gala. Urban enthusiastically replied: “Everything… I listen to so much stuff!”
Urban attended the iconic annual event, hailed as “fashion’s biggest night,” with his wife, award-winning actress Nicole Kidman. Kidman turned heads on the carpet in a stunning gown, which she revealed to La La Anthony on the red carpet is a 20-year-old dress. Kidman wore a “Karl Lagerfeld-era Chanel Haute Couture gown from 2004,” per Vogue, which notes that Kidman also wore the glamorous gown in a Baz Luhrmann-directed commercial for Chanel No. 5. Kidman seemed to hint at her Met Gala wardrobe on Instagram earlier in the day, sharing two snippets that some viewers might recognize from the 2004 commercial. Speaking with Curl, Urban described his wife’s red carpet look as “celestial.”
Guests of the 2023 Met Gala dressed in honor of late fashion designed Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019. He was 85. This year’s Met Gala celebrates the opening of the exhibit “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” honoring the legendary designer whose whose decades-long career includes running Chanel for more than 30 years. The exhibit opens to the public on Friday (May 5). Other celebrities to arrive at the Met Gala on Monday evening include Rita Ora, Dua Lipa, Usher, Amanda Seyfried and many others.
