Chase Rice posted a stunning acoustic rendition of an unreleased anthem, seemingly reflecting on an Eric Church concert that inspired him to pursue his career as a country singer-songwriter.

Rice posted the clip on TikTok, sharing “Church” with his followers. Rice said he’s been playing the ballad during recent lie performances, “tellin the story about the night that changed my life forever. Made me realize what this guy did that night was what I was supposed to do. Thank you [Eric Church].”

Rice in in the midst of his headlining “Way Down Yonder Tour,” in support of his latest album, I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell. The collection, which includes a photo of Rice’s late father as the cover art, includes “Key West & Colorado,” “I Hate Cowboys” and other highlights throughout the 13-track project. He previously old iHeartRadio that it’s some of the most “vulnerable” music he’s made, and “if I'm gonna put my dad as the album cover, it's gonna be music that I'm proud of, and I think he would be proud of.”

Now, Rice hails I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell the “best album of my career.” He wrote in a heartfelt Instagram caption when the project released in February: “This one just took a lot out of me. Hates in the title but love is the theme. I’ve learned a lot from so many of my screw ups, and this is just the start of that. Selfishly, I may have done this one more for me than for anybody, but I hope more than anything that y’all love it. Thanks to everybody for the ride so far.”
