Nate Smith’s long-awaited debut project has finally arrived.
The “Whiskey On You” rising superstar kicked off a new era on Friday (April 28), dropping his debut album and the deluxe edition in the same day. He wrote in a celebratory Instagram caption: “The wait is over, my debut album is out, along with the deluxe version! There’s been so much hard work put into this project from so many people and I am so grateful!!!!! Enjoy everyone!!”
Smith’s album release is a longtime coming. The country hitmaker announced in January that he would delay his album’s release, explaining at the time that it “just didn’t feel right” to release new music in February, with months to spend at home in Nashville before getting the opportunity to perform in front of crowds. Now, Smith is set to take the stage at Stagecoach on Friday night (along with headliner Luke Bryan, plus Jon Pardi, Riley Green, Elle King, Breland, Melissa Etheridge and many more), and will kick off Thomas Rhett’s headlining tour on May 4 in Des Moines, Iowa.
“I just feel lucky that I get to be the messenger for these songs,” Smith said in a statement on his website. “I’m not here to be cool or anything like that. It’s literally just to hit people in the heart.”
