Wynonna Judd could never forget the moment she was the most starstruck.

The legendary country artist — known for her solo work in addition to her beloved music with her mother, Naomi Judd, in The Judds — has spent her life around some of the most iconic stars in the music industry. In a new clip shared by CMT, Judd remembered which artist made her the most starstruck, and what she told her:

“My biggest moment being starstruck was meeting Bonnie Raitt. I was about 16 (or) 17, and I was in awe. Because here’s the deal. In the 80s, I was around Johnny Cash, The Highwaymen, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, and they were family to me. So, meeting Bonnie, that’s a whole other level of Rock & Roll cool…and I remember saying to her, ‘I wanna be just like you.’ And she said, ‘no, there’s only one Bonnie. You be Wynonna.’”

The Country Music Hall of Famer and GRAMMY Award-winning artist highlighted a few other career moments, including her unforgettable “Love Can Build A Bridge” music video, and The Judds performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in the 90s.

Judd is telling “my story in my voice,” through a new feature-length documentary that premiered on Wednesday (April 26). Wynonna Judd: Between Hell & Hallelujah chronicles Judd’s latest tour a she navigated life without her mother, who died unexpectedly on April 30, 2022. She was 76. The documentary is available on Paramount+.

“It’s real and it’s raw,” Judd said in a statement when the documentary was announced earlier this month.. “It’s celebration and sadness. It’s all of the people who I leaned on during one of the toughest seasons of my life. I wanted the opportunity to tell my story in my voice. If doing so helps one person out there choose life, then I am grateful.”
