Cassadee Pope kicked off a fresh new era in her career as an artist on Friday (April 14) with the release of her electrifying anthem, “People That I Love Leave.” Pope’s highly-anticipated single shifts to a pop-punk, rock sound from her previous hits in country.

“IT’S HERE!” Pope celebrated as her long-awaited single dropped on Friday. “Welcome to the first page of a new chapter. Thank you to everyone who helped me get this out and to all of YOU for sticking with me all these years. ‘People That I Love Leave’ is not just mine anymore… it’s ours.”

Pope previously shared her emotional reaction as her social media followers gushed over a snippet of “People That I Love Leave.” Last month, Pope promised to play an acoustic verse of the heartbreak anthem if she hit 75,000 likes on a post, and 10 minutes later, she could hardly contain herself (especially as supportive comments rolled in): “OK, I had chills when I was playing that because...I’m ready to get this out to you guys, and I’m going to cry. I’m just really excited. I’m just working real hard. …It’s really exciting that you guys are reacting so strongly. I also haven’t really played that for anyone live, so playing that got me really excited and really happy. I’m ready for this chapter.”
