Granger Smith announced ticket sales for his tour for the final time.
“Many times over the years I’ve told y’all tickets are on sale Friday for one of my concerts or tours, but this is the last time I’ll get to say it,” Smith wrote in his Instagram caption as he posted the list of nationwide tour stops, kicking off with a show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on Thursday (April 13). Smith’s “Like A River Farewell Tour” includes shows in Kentucky, Washington, California, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Arizona and more, coming to an end with back-to-back shows in Fort Worth, Texas in August.
Smith shared a heartfelt message in a video on Instagram on Tuesday (April 11). He admitted that he was “so nervous to make this video,” explaining that he would close the chapter on his career in country music to pursue ministry. Smith, who will also be at this year's iHeartCountry Festival in Austin on May 13, added that he’s been attending seminary, training in ministry, and “that just takes a ton of time to pursue…and that may explain to some of y’all why I’ve appeared, maybe, distant, especially to music lately.”
Smith’s final tour ends the “longest era of my life,” bringing an end to a 24-year period of touring. The After MidNite host, who’s set to release a book this year, said on Tuesday that he’s “so encouraged and hopeful and excited and joyful about the next chapter, but to a large extent, I have no idea what it will look like. I just want to glorify God the best way that I can. I want to learn and grow and serve my local church and allow my pastors to quip and affirm those next steps. Lord willing, I want to be used to help people find their purpose.”
