Wanda Rogers curated a collection of music by her legendary late husband, Kenny Rogers, and the posthumous album is set to release this year. The full-length project, Life Is Like A Song, will feature eight unreleased recordings and two “coveted rarities from the KR vault,” per an announcement from Rogers’ team on his official social media pages Wednesday (April 12). Life Is Like A Song includes “Goodbye” and “Tell Me That You Love Me,” a “lost” collaboration with his longtime duet partner, Dolly Parton.

“Kenny shares wisdom on life, love, family and loss in this specially curated collection of music by Kenny’s widow, Wanda Rogers, showcasing amazing never-before-heard music from the one and only Kenny Rogers,” reads the announcement. “The album is being released in memory of Kenny to honor him and his musical legacy. The project marks the first new non-Christmas studio album by Rogers in 10 years and the only non-compilation/non-reissued full-length album to be released on vinyl since 1991.”

Rogers, known for tons of unforgettable classics throughout his decades-long career, died in March of 2020. He was 81. His family announced at that time that he’d passed away of natural causes: “The Rogers family is sad to announce that Kenny Rogers passed away last night at 10:25PM at the age of 81. Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family.”

Life Is Like A Song is set to release on June 2.
