Carly Pearce marked her 100th performance on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage on Tuesday evening (April 11), and the award-winning superstar made it a night that’s impossible to forget.
Pearce gushed over her 100th performance at her “favorite place in the whole word” in a message shared to the Opry’s Instagram story. The 29: Written in Stone artist said she was “super nostalgic” as she reflected on her first-ever show at the venue in May of 2015. A lot has changed for Pearce in those 8 years, including going from cleaning Airbnb rentals to make ends meet to celebrating a milestone night as a Grand Ole Opry member.
“My parents devoted their lives to my country music dreams from the time I was in elementary school, always believing I could reach for the stars,” Pearce wrote in a heartwarming Instagram caption as she shared a photo with her parents on Wednesday (April 12). “So thankful they got to celebrate so many milestone moments with me last night.”
The 100th show included renditions of Pearce’s smash-hit heartbreak single, “What He Didn’t Do,” in addition to the Opry debut of “Never Wanted To be That Girl” with Ashley McBryde (the duo’s first time performing the song live since they won a history-making Grammy Award for it this year), “Easy Going” with The Isaacs, “Blue Moon of Kentucky” with Ricky Skaggs, “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Lady A’s Charles Kelley (subbing for Lee Brice), and other highlights.
“One hundred times stepping into the circle,” the Opry celebrated in a caption on Instagram. “New song debuts, special guests, an invitation to become a member, an Opry induction, and countless memories, songs and stories. We hope the next hundred feel just as special, [Carly Pearce].”
Pearce is the latest addition to the all-star iHeartCountry Festival lineup on May 13, at Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
