Luke Combs wants country music listeners to weigh in on his next radio single, with a choice between two of the biggest tracks on his latest album: “5 Leaf Clover” and “Love You Anyway.”
“Whatever song y’all select is what I’m going with,” Combs wrote in an Instagram caption as he encouraged his social media followers to vote which song they want to hear on the radio. Beginning now through next Wednesday (April 12), fans can cast their votes at lukecombs.com. Combs said on TikTok, “I look forward to seeing what you guys think. I’m gonna announce the winner at my show next Saturday (April 15) at Nissan Stadium, here in Nashville.”
Combs released his long-awaited 18-track album, Gettin’ Old, on March 24, just in time to kick off his massive world tour. The reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Album of the Year winner — for his latest project’s predecessor, Growin’ Up — chronicles the state of life he’s in now in the “coming of age” collection.
“Sometimes when I listen to it — and someone will probably be upset that I say this, but I’m like, ‘man, am I like, super boring?’” Combs told iHeartRadio’s Wayne D during a Q&A at his iHeartRadio Album Release Party. Though he loves the songs on the album, “it’s like, I’m in bed by 10 o’clock because I got a kid now, so maybe it makes sense. I don’t know. It’s just where my songwriting went.”
Combs and his wife, Nicole, are getting ready to welcome their second child in September. They made the surprise announcement shortly before Gettin’ Old’s release, showing son Tex Lawrence, who was born in June 2022, wearing a “big brother” t-shirt.
