Carrie Underwood delivered a powerful performance — and epic finale — of “Cry Pretty,” the smash-hit single that served as the title track of her 2018 project. It happened during a recent stop on Underwood’s ongoing “Denim & Rhinestones Tour,” in support of her latest album that released last year.

Underwood showcased the strength in her voice as she belted the final, soulful notes in “Cry Pretty,” taking a moment to pause and catch her breath (and let the audience roar with cheers and applause) before she ended the song and descended below the stage on a platform. She wrote in her Instagram caption on Friday (February 17): “Having the best time CRYING PRETTY with you each night on the #DenimAndRhinestonesTour 😭 See you tonight, Boston! 💜💎”

The 13-track Cry Pretty album also included “Southbound,” “Love Wins” and “The Champion” featuring Ludacris, among other fan-favorite highlights. Underwood didn’t release another country album again until June 2022, when her highly-anticipated Denim & Rhinestones collection made its debut. Between those to albums, however, Underwood was still undoubtedly keeping herself busy. She teamed up with Jason Aldean, for example, on the awards-winning collaboration “If I Didn’t Love You,” and released “Only Us,” a duet with Dan + Shay for the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack. She also released her holiday album, My Gift, in 2020 with a special edition in 2021, and My Saviorher debut gospel album.
