Little Big Town has âbeen dying to share this news,â the beloved country quartet said on their social media channels as they unveiled 2023 tour dates, set to kick off this spring. The group is âbeyond excited to bring our âFriends of Mineâ tour to a city near you.â
Little Big Town will start the âFriends of Mine Tourâ on Thursday, April 13, at the BJCC Concert Hall in Birmingham, Alabama. The tour includes stops in Georgia, South Carolina, Oklahoma and other destinations before its finale on Sunday, July 16 at Grand Theater at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. Little Big Town will bring special guests along on the tour, though those guests were not announced as of publication time on Wednesday (January 25).
The âFriends of Mine Tourâ comes shortly after the group released their 10th studio album, Mr. Sun, in September 2022. The 16-track project is one that aims to capture âreality, love, and reuniting.â Some of the biggest songs in the collection include âAll Summer,â âBetter Love,â âHell Yeah,â âThree Whiskeys and the Truth,â âRich Manâ and others.
âAny time we make a record, we hope that when the fans hear it, they identify with parts of their own lives or their past experiences and can make the song their own and their own story, and this record is no different,â Kimberly Schlapman â who performs in Little Big Town with Jimi Westbrook, Karen Fairchild and Phillip Sweet â said in a statement. âI hope and pray that when fans hear this, they go, âYes! Iâve been thereâ or âYes, I so badly want that,â or âYeah, I know Iâm not the only one whoâs been through that.â It just means everything to us when fans come up and say that song got me through this moment in my life or that song means everything to me or we had that song at my wedding. I mean, just any of those things means that all that work and time and everything we put into making a record, it means that itâs also someone elseâs story and itâs just the biggest compliment.â
