Thomas Rhett celebrated the first day of winter by sharing a behind-the-scenes look at one of his festive holiday covers.
On Wednesday (December 21), the "Half Of Me" singer shared a sneak peek on Twitter at what happened during the making of "Winter Wonderland," his take on the classic Christmas tune and one that appears on his recent holiday EP Merry Christmas, Y'all.
"It's only fitting to behind the scenes of 'winter wonderland' on the first day of winter 🎄❄️," he said in a tweet.
While Rhett's original music video for the cover harkens back to when it was first penned in the 1930s, with the black-and-white video edited like an old film, the new behind-the-scene clip is filled with vibrant color. Starting with Rhett pretending to strum an invisible guitar, the video shows what went down during filming, including one declaration of "Can we get the tequila?" and Rhett struggling to wink at the camera.
Rhett got a head start on the holiday season by releasing Merry Christmas, Y'all in October, saying "it's never too early to get in the festive spirit." The four-track EP also includes covers of the classic songs "Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" and "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas."
