Thomas Rhett shared the sweetest tribute to his wife, Lauren Akins, deeming her a “superhero” for taking care of the family as he endured a days-long illness. Rhett shared a heartwarming clip on Instagram praising Akins.

“I just wanted to hop on here and give a huge shout-out to my beautiful wife. I got really sick this week — stomach virus, I guess, is going around — and it freakin’ whacks me,” Rhett said. “And my wife had a beach trip planned the day that I got sick, and she canceled that trip and stayed here, and absolutely took care of me and our four kids like she was a superhero. I never met Jesus in person, but what I witnessed these last few days was the patience of Jesus exhibited through a human being, and that him being, being my wife. So, I just wanted to hop on here and just give a huge shout-out to my wife because she is an angel. …You are incredible.”

Hundreds of commenters hailed Rhett a “lucky man,” singer Charlie Puth wrote, and calling the couple relationship goals. Rhett and Akins celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary last month. The “Where We Started” singer said in a tribute to his wife at that time that “I legit don’t know sometimes if you are a real person or an Angel. I could not a dreamed up a better life if I tried. …I love you so much!” Since tying the knot, Rhett and Akins have welcomed four young daughters: Willa Gray (7), Ada James (5), Lennon Love (2), and Lillie Carolina, (1).
