Granger Smith has finally shared the long-awaited trailer for the movie he filmed earlier this year, and an album — which Smith wrote entirely — is set to follow. Smith noted that some of the music heard in the trailer will be “coming very soon.”

“Welp…this is pretty cool! I’ve waited a LONG time to finally start talking about the movie [Amber Smith] and I filmed back in January,” the country artist and After MidNite host wrote in a caption as he shared the trailer on Instagram on Tuesday (November 15). “It’s a [Pure Flix] film original called Moonrise. It’s about a country singer (imagine that) who’s really stubborn (sounds familiar). I have a lot to tell y’all about, including an entire album I wrote for the film that comes out…VERY soon. The trailer released today and the movie premieres 12/15. Ohhh…and yes, if you watch this trailer, you can hear some of those new songs coming VERY soon 👀”

Pure Flix, which describes itself on its Instagram account as a streaming platform “for wholesome, faith-based and family-focused entertainment,” also shared the trailer on Tuesday. The streaming service highlighted Smith’s acting debut, announcing that viewers can stream it exclusively on Pure Flix on December 15.

Smith, who plays Will Brown, previously shared some info about Moonrise on Instagram, when he shared a photo with the movie director and writer, Vickie Bronaugh. He said at the time that he’s “never acted in this way, but I fell in love with the character and knew that I had to do it…or at least give it my best shot.”

“After country singer Will Brown's wife passes away, his grief sidelines his career and pushes him away from his young daughter until a bright and talented horse trainer shows him strength, forgiveness and grace to live life again,” the film’s description reads. Watch the trailer Smith shared here:
