Michael Ray revealed that work on his fourth studio album is underway. The country singer-songwriter took to his social media channels on Tuesday (October 25) to share a few photos documenting “Day 1 in the studio.” Ray also wrote in a tweet: “In the studio!!! Album #4”

Ray dropped his 7-track EP, Higher Education, last year, marking his latest collection of new music since releasing Amos in 2019. Fan-favorite anthems on that project include “Whiskey And Rain,” “Just The Way I Am,” “Holy Water” and others. Ray debuted a “Holy Water” music video that marked a full-circle moment as he returned to his Florida hometown to film the project at the picturesque white church that he attended with his family growing up. He said of that collection: “Higher Education is about going through life and the hard knocks that make you who you are ... coming out of it stronger, having let it change you without hardening you. This album reminds me that even though we all go through hard times, we grow and we’re better for it.”

Ray has also been paying tribute to some of country music’s biggest legends, sharing his own versions of some of his favorite country songs, including those by Randy Travis, Tracy Lawrence, Trisha Yearwood and others. See Ray’s photos from the studio here:
