Jimmie Allen teased his social media followers with a snippet of his next cross-genre collaboration, and now, fans are begging for it to be released. Allen revealed that he has “something new with my guys [Cheat Codes] dropping soon,” as he shared a clip on Instagram listening to the song with his son Aadyn, 8.
Cheat Codes — the electronic DJ trio made up of KEVI, Trevor Dahl and Matthew Russell — chimed in among the commenters, adding that they “think it’s time we drop this.” Cheat Codes also shared a snippet of the song, called “Lose You,” on their own Instagram account, urging fans to “get ready…” There’s no word as of publication time on Thursday (October 20), however, when fans would get to hear the full version of the song.
Allen has often worked with artists foremother genres while staying true to his country background. The “Settle On Back” singer recently interviewed with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which now has his gold suit from the 2022 GRAMMYs on display in the “Right Here, Right Now” exhibit. During the conversation, Allen spoke about what country music means to him and why he doesn’t want to change it: “I’m adding myself. I’m adding the way that I view country music. …Leave country music as-is, and you add to it, so people that rock with you, now they’re a part of that. People that rock with some other new artists coming in, now they rock with them to where it (expands). …Just add to the music.”
