Dierks Bentley debuted a music video for “Gold,” the song that launches the singer-songwriter into his next era as fans await his 10th LP. The “Gold” video, directed by Wes Edwards, shifts the viewer’s perspective from “the rocky parts of life” to the moments they cherish, featuring stunning locations throughout the state of Tennessee to represent Bentley’s love of the outdoors.

"The treatment for this music video almost wrote itself," Bentley said in a statement as the video premiered on Thursday (October 20). “'Gold' is an optimistic reality check. I think we all wrestle with trying to get through the rocky parts of life and on to the next thing, but there are lots of special moments to cherish even in the middle of the tough stuff.”

Bentley performs in the video with six band members, including Charlie Worsham and others. He added in an Instagram caption as he shared a clip outside with the band: “Sometimes hitting bottom is the best way to appreciate the mountain-high moments… it might be gravel, but it feels like [gold].” Bentley’s forthcoming project is set to release early next year, following “an especially careful production process, one helmed by the artist himself for the first time,” according to a previous press release.

“2020 was a chance for me to give my guitar and the road a little rest. It gave me the chance to spend a lot more time adventuring outdoors with family and friends, but also alone. It also gave me time to reset and rekindle my love of Country music and a lot of the types of songs and sounds that I fell in love with when I first got to Nashville,” Bentley previously said in a statement. “I think you’ll hear that in this first track, but it carries across the whole album.”
