It's not easy surprising Kelsea Ballerini â but Kenny Chesney was able to pull it off!
A ways into her set at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, Ballerini was experiencing some technical issues and spoke to the crowd as she killed time, according to People. That's when Kenny appeared in the wings and marched on stage. He snuck up behind Kelsea as the audience's cheers grew louder and louder.
The duo went on to sing "Half of My Hometown." Chesney shared his thoughts on singing this song with Ballerini. "Singing 'Half of My Hometown' with Kelsea is always magic, because she grew up where I did... and she knows all those places, too. So proud of her, especially at the Greek last night," he told People in a statement.
After their magical performance, Kelsea assured the crowd that she was "genuinely shocked" by the surprise since these things are typically really hard to sneak by her. She posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram after the show with the caption, "half of my hometown showed up in los angeles last night. @kennychesney WHAT A SURPRISE IM STILL LOSING IT?!?" Chesney commented, "Very happy your team kept it a secret. Haha. Love you and very proud of you."
