Gabby Barrett shared a snippet of a song that’s set to release on her forthcoming sophomore album, and her social media followers gushed over the 19-second sneak peek. Barrett, 22, teased the unreleased song on Wednesday (September 28), without revealing its title or any details about the album just yet.
She only confirmed that she’s working on album No. 2, and asked her fans: “What do you want to hear? Who do you want a duet with?”
Last month, Barrett confirmed on her Instagram story that she was in the process of writing her next album. She fielded a few questions from fans in a brief Q&A, during which she also spoke about touring while pregnant with her second child. Barrett was on Jason Aldean’s headlining tour at the time, though she’s since finished performing as she gets ready to welcome her son. She and husband Cade Foehner, 26, confirmed on Mother’s Day that Baby No. 2 is on the way, joining daughter Baylah Bay Foehner, who was born in January 2021.
Barrett released her debut full-length album Goldmine in 2020. She followed it up with the Goldmine (Deluxe) last year, an extended version that includes a few additional songs: “Pick Me Up,” “Never Get It Back,” “I Will Always Love You,” and “The Good Ones (Wedding Version).” Listen to Barrett’s latest teaser here:
