Shania Twain kicked off a new era of music with her new single “Waking Up Dreaming,” and donned eye-popping looks in the music video that are begging to be recreated.
“One big thing I love about releasing music now versus the 90s is that I get to see your reactions in real time... although that's a little nerve-racking too!” Twain gushed on Instagram eon Thursday (September 22), as she posted about the music video premiere on Friday (September 23). She assured fans, however, that she was “really excited” for their reactions, and “can’t wait to see you guys replicate these looks... you know I had to give you some more outfit inspo.” The country music legend hopes, “as with all my music, (listeners) take it and make it your own.”
Twain announced the release of “Waking Up Dreaming” earlier this week, writing on her social media channels at the time: “Every time I get to announce something like this I get such a rush of adrenaline and nerves - it never gets old... I am super excited to share with you that my new song 'Waking Up Dreaming' is coming out this Friday!! I've spent the last couple years working away on new music... on my documentary... on the Vegas residency and it's been such a creatively fulfilling time for me, I can't wait for this next chapter and Waking Up Dreaming is just the start.”
The “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” icon just received the Poet’s Award at the 15th Annual ACM Honors for her songwriting, and when she shared a clip of her speech on the historic Ryman Auditorium stage, she seemingly hinted that she’d drop new music soon: “Are you ready to hear some more of my songwriting skills?”
