Carly Pearce Is 'Freakin’ Competitive' — Even With Strangers

Carly Pearce can’t help but get “freakin’ competitive” when she works out, even when she drops in at local gyms while she’s out on tour. Pearce, who often stops at Orangetheory Fitness studios for interval-based training classes (when she isn’t out for a run, anyway), is no stranger to sweaty selfies with classmates who recognize her. Even though she doesn’t know them, the award-winning singer-songwriter can’t help but compete with them. She said in a statement, shared by her record label:

“They definitely recognize me. It’s kind of funny. But, you know, it’s all part of it, and at least we’re all sweaty together. They’re all really sweet and usually wait until after class. But I’m not really sure if they’re competitive with me but I know I’m freakin’ competitive, so I’m competitive with all them and I don’t even know ‘em.”

Pearce recently wrapped up the “Here And Now Tour” with Old Dominion, Dan + Shay and headliner Kenny Chesney, as well as her own European tour. Among the highlights, Pearce shared a powerful moment with the crowd in Dublin, Ireland, capturing the entire audience singing every word to her latest radio single, “What He Didn’t Do.” She shared on Instagram: “I have no words. I can’t even get over what just happened. Thank you for the BEST last night of my first headlining European tour.”

Pearce will be performing during the 2022 Daytime Stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival on September 24th. Fans can tune in to stream live via iHeartMedia radio stations throughout the country across more than 150 markets, and watch via an exclusive national television broadcast special on The CW Network in October.
