Little Big Town appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (September 14), showing off their sense of humor and their heartfelt side during the show. The beloved quartet — made up of Jimi WestbrookKaren FairchildKimberly Schlapman and Phillip Sweet — kicked off the show with a hilarious opening scene, as host Jimmy Fallon congratulates the group on their 10th studio album, Mr. Sun.

Fallon shares that his favorite song on the record is “Hell Yeah,” which released earlier this year. Little Big Town debuted the song during their performance at the 2022 CMT Music Awards show in April, after hinting on their social media channels that they’d be “bringing something new for you…”

Now, the song title is inspiring comedic banter on The Tonight Show.

When Fallon asked, “You guys excited to be here?,” Little Big Town sang their response: “Hell Yeah.” Fallon moves on to say, “Let me know if I can get you anything…Maybe some chips?” “Hell Yeah!” “Oh, my fantasy football team’s looking good this week!” “Hell Yeah!” “Today’s crossword puzzle is tough… Do you guys know the opposite of ‘heaven’ and a four-letter word that means yes?” “Hell Yeah!”

That’s when Fallon asks the band if they want to hang out after the show — and they hilariously switch up their responses. Watch the opening scene here:

Little Big Town also performed their heartfelt song “Rich Man,” a song that Westbrook wrote based on a concept he’s developed for more than a decade. The ballad, which released over the summer, serves as a tribute to the sweetest things in life that truly make a person “rich.” Westbrook previously explained that the song is “about my love of family and their role in laying the foundation that anchors me.”

Little Big Town’s 10th studio album, Mr. Sun, is set to release on Friday (September 16). Fairchild previously explained that the project “is focused on better days ahead, the value of friendships and family; it touches on heartbreak and letting go, but it’s full of sunshine and joy.” See the full track list below.
